About me

VFX COMPOSITOR, 3D GENERALIST, ILLUSTRATOR.

Hi! My name is Ailu Sobrales Franze. I'm a generalist of sorts. I have experience working on 2D and 3D animation, as well as visual effects.
I like to draw and experiment how to combine different visual techniques and mediums, such as film, webcomic, videogames, etc.

Education

I studied 3D Animation and VFX at the National University of San Martin (UNSAM) in Argentina.

In this school I learned all the steps in a 3D and VFX production, pre-production, production and post-production.

We also ventured into other media, such as VR, AR and Gaming.

After working in 2D animation as an animator and digital compositing artist, I took a course of VFX compositing to further my knowledge.

I started my journey in the world of animation in the Instutute of Cinematographic Art of Avellaneda (IDAC) in Argentina.

The school taught us the history of animation, we learned cell animation and stop motion, we even had the chance to animate on 16mm film. We also learned experimental techniques of animation, such as sand animation and oil paint on glass animation.

3D Modelling and texturing, 3D animation, lighting 3D scenes and compositing of VFX shots. Worked in the film "Tetris" (AppleTV), the series "Ringo" (Star+), "The Kingdom II"(Netflix), and others.
